We recently reached out to some of the DIOPTRA partners who are leading various activities to gain their perspectives on the project’s mission from their areas of expertise. This resulted in a series of video interviews (available on our website and official YouTube channel), where they share insights into their challenges and ongoing work.

Our fifth interview features Rūta Goštautaitė, an International Project Manager at TeraGlobus – who discusses the development of the DIOPTRA Clinical Protocols and their importance within the project.

Here below is a transcript of the interview:

Could you introduce yourself and tell us what TeraGlobus does?

My name is Rūta Goštautaitė, I am a project manager at the TeraGlobus company. TeraGlobus is a SME, based in Vilnius, Lithuania. We are working as dissemination, communication, exploitation healthcare consultancy partners in a number of international projects.

How is TeraGlobus involved in the DIOPTRA Project?

Talking about the DIOPTRA Project, we are leading the task that has to provide clinical protocols, and we already prepared them, working in close collaboration with DIOPTRA’s clinical, technical and legal partners.

Could you share an update on the task?

Currently we are still working on the Prospective Study Protocol; we are trying to increase it and to put all the needed information, so that all the clinical partners will get the bioethical approval in their country. It is crucial for all partners to get the bioethical approval and to have the finalised clinical protocol so they can start to collect the data and samples, and send them to the dedicated partners.

How could DIOPTRA improve cancer screening and early disease detection?

I believe that DIOPTRA will help to make a fundamental change in cancer screening programs as well as early disease detection, and this will lead to a broader understanding of cancer in general, and also lead to a better quality of disease-free life for people.
