The fourth plenary meeting of the DIOPTRA project took place on October 29–30, 2024, in Riga, Latvia, hosted by partner SmartSol. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partners to discuss the project’s overall progress and key advancements in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening.

On the first day, partners shared updates on clinical and scientific management, as well as technical coordination and quality assurance. Notable progress included the release of a clinical dashboard and the design of a robust AI-driven methodology to identify risk factors among patients. The development of the DIOPTRA mobile app is also well underway, with the backend and content management system (CMS) now completed. The app’s release is expected by January 2025. Legal considerations were addressed, including updates to consent forms from clinical partners and personal data processing in accordance with GDPR.

On the second day, consortium partners engaged in technical discussions related to the development and communication of the DIOPTRA modules. Additionally, a workshop focused on innovation and the identification of key exploitable results was held, allowing partners to collaborate on solutions relevant to the project. Other updates included the DIOPTRA studies that were conducted, CRC guidelines, innovation management methodologies, and synergies with cancer-related EU projects.
