DESCRIPTION:Danish Cancer Research Days is Denmark’s largest interdisciplinary cancer conference. It brings together clinicians\, researchers\, patient organisations and decision-makers across disease areas and research disciplines on 31 August and 1 September at ODEON in Odense\, Denmark. \nStrong national collaboration is an essential part of the basis for high and uniform quality in research and treatment across cancer pathways and areas. Therefore\, the Danish Cancer Research Days focuses on Danish clinical cancer research and how\, through national and interdisciplinary projects\, creates and improves the treatment of the future. DESCRIPTION:Health systems in Europe were facing significant problems pre-COVID\, from underfunded primary and social care to workforce shortages and inequities in access to care\, while addressing growing challenges such as ageing populations and the rise in non-communicable diseases. The ensuing permacrisis – including an ongoing pandemic\, the war in Ukraine\, the cost-of-living crisis\, and the climate emergency – have only exacerbated the situation\, stretching health systems\, and in particular the health and care workforce\, to their limits. SUMMARY:PIVAC 2023 23rd International Conference on Progress in Vaccination Against Cancer
DESCRIPTION:PIVAC 23 aims to bring together scientists working on translational and clinical cancer research for three days of presentations on the most recent advances in these fields including (i) immunotherapies (cellular\, immune checkpoint blockade\, vaccines); (ii) innate immunity and tumor control; (iii) host- tumor interactions in the tumor microenvironment; (iv) in vitro and in vivo models for cancer immunotherapies (v) combinational cancer therapy approaches; and (vi) prognostic and predictive biomarkers in tumors and immune cells. \nImproved knowledge of genomic and molecular alterations in tumors has significantly contributed to improved clinical outcomes. However\, many hurdles remain to be overcome. Alterations in the tumor genome are associated not only with immune stimulation but also with an immune suppressive microenvironment and tumor immune escape mechanisms. Currently\, various promising novel approaches are being employed to improve the efficacy of immunotherapies alone or in combination with targeted therapies\, often by seeking to reverse the immunosuppressive environment. Additionally\, prognostic signatures are being sought in order to provide a basis for tailored immunotherapies. \nDuring the meeting there will be plenty of time for fruitful discussions between speakers and participants to encourage the emergence of new collaborations. \nFor more information: https://scep.gr/en/events/event/pivac2023/
